Every year the Academic Booster Club awards two Above and Beyond Awards to recognize teachers, counselors or administrators who have gone the extra mile for students and families at Wheeler. The prize is a $200 check for them personally, as well as a donation to their department.

Our first recipient is Ms. Jackie Escott, Wheeler's parapro for the media center. Last year, she was put in charge of distributing all of the laptops to the students who needed them during Covid. She would meet students at night and weekends to ensure that EVERY student had the technology that they needed to attend school virtually.

During this uncertain time, her stepping up to help made a huge difference to so many Wheeler students and families. In addition to that task, she's been overseeing all the technology for the school, including troubleshooting problems, and putting hot spots that ABC and PTSA bought in the fall into circulation for families who don’t have internet access. We are excited to recognize her with a check for $500 for the Media Center and a $200 person check. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Wheeler Ms. Escott!
